Trojans, Hounds earn 5 1st-place medals at Stan Morgan invite

CARLISLE — Chambersburg and Shippensburg competed in Saturday evening’s Stan Morgan Invitational in Carlisle and produced 5 first-place finishes between them.

For the Trojan boys, Okenie McLaughlin was a double winner. He won the long jump with a leap of 22-4.25, then came back to earn the triple jump title with a fine distance of 45-9.

Chambersburg placed third in the team standings, behind Carlisle and Cumberland Valley.

The Trojan girls received a first place from Natalie Quinn in the 3200 race, clocking a time of 11:06.21. In the Freshman 300 hurdles, Emily Mitchell hit the line first in 50.30.

Like the boys, Chambersburg was third behind CV and Carlisle in the team standings.

Quinn also placed second in the 1600, Dechea Davis was the 100 runner-up and the girls 4×400 relay team of Addy Brubaker, Olivia Coy, Bree Paetow and Maggie Holtry placed second. For the Trojan boys, Gavin Parris was second in the javelin  and Jon Dawe was the 300 hurdles runner-up.

Shippensburg had one winner, Ayden Foust in the discus, with his todd of 154-0. Foust also took second in the shot put for the Greyhounds, while Macy Ritter was second in the 100 hurdles for the girls.
