Chambersburg 20, Central Dauphin 12: The Trojans trailed 7-5 at halftime, but blitzed the Rams in the second half 15-5 and claimed a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory Wednesday afternoon in Linglestown.

Everett Wetherald

Chambersburg coach Joe Wilmot said, “We weren’t playing our game in the first half; just not playing smart lacrosse. I challenged (nicest way to put it) them at the half and they responded — it was the best lacrosse we’re played all year in the second half. ”

Ryan Cosey powered in 9 goals to lead the Trojans (6-5, 5-5 MPC) and Cosey is now the leading goal scorer in the state with 70. He also had 3 assists, 6 groundballs and 3 caused turnovers.

“Cosey was just dominant on the offensive end,” Wilmot said. “Everett Wetherald had a career game and got his first varsity win with 14 saves in goal. George Beach and Eli Herbert gave us great effort in faceoffs. This was a key win for our playoff hopes.”

Also contributing to the offense were Blake Dupont (4, goals, 1 assist), Braylen Davis (2 g, 3 a), Tavian Ferguson (2 g, 1 a), Wyatt Pyne (1 g, 2 a), Parker Watkins (1 g, 1 a), Blake Hitchens (1 g), Herbert (1 a) and Hudson Sites (1 a).
