The Spartans got on the board in the top of the first inning after Earley doubled to center field; Marpoe flew out, and Hedge singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.  The Spartans added one run in the second when Glenn grounded out, making the score 4-0.  A ground out by Kaden Marpoe extended the lead to 5-0 in the top of the third inning.

Jett Sipes (1-0) earned the win for the Spartans.  The junior righty surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one.  Harrell threw two innings of shutout ball in relief and allowed one hit, striking out three and walking one.  Teddy Group finished the sixth inning in relief and allowed one run (one earned) on three hits, striking out one and walking none.

The Spartans piled up 11 hits in the game. Glenn went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three RBIs. Earley was excellent, going 2-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBIs.  Those two doubles gave him a new career high.  Sattazahn went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead in hits, with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBIs.  Fletcher had multiple hits.
