Greencastle-Antrim 10, Spring Grove 0: The Blue Devils played a strong game in all three phases Monday afternoon at home to win a non-league encounter with the Rockets.
Greencastle (3-0) has now outscored its 3 opponents 53-7 so far. The Blue Devils put the game away with a 7-run second inning.
“We’re playing well right now, and we’re going to try to ride it as long as we can,” G-A coach Eric Shaner said. “The results have been good so far, but we play two good teams this week (Boiling Springs and Waynesboro), so that will tell us a lot.”
Avery Horst pitched all five innings for the win, allowing only 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5.
Andrew Weaver continued his hot hand at the plate, going 3-for-4, scored 2 runs and drove in 2 runs.
Cam Rakaczewski, Bo Brookens and Manny Brookens each went 2-for-3 in Greencastle’s 13-hit attack. Rakaczewski hit a double and triple for 2 RBIs, Bo Brookens had a double and an RBI and Manny Brookens had a run batted in.
Horst also chipped in a 2-run double.
