Chambersburg 17, Central Dauphin 16: Ryan Cosey opened the season with a bang and the Trojans picked up a quality Mid Penn Commonwealth victory over the Rams on Wednesday night at Trojan Stadium.
Cosey popped in 12 goals and added a pair of assists, to break the school record for both goals and points in a single game.
Chambersburg coach Joe Wilmot said, “We managed to hold off a late push from CD after we suffered some injuries to key guys in the middle of the game. Especially considering the guys we had to play without, I’m happy to get out of this one with a W.”
Blake Dupont scored 2 goals, as did Parker Watkins. Braylen Davis picked up a goal and an assist. Also, Tavian Ferguson produced 2 assists and goalie Kellen Sanders came up with 13 saves.
“Kellen made some really nice saves at key moments,” Wilmot said. “And Eli Herbert did a nice job defending one of the best attackmen in the conference.”
