The Trojans, now 10-4 after their 6th consecutive win, took down Penn Wood, a team from suburban Philadelphia that had an 11-2 record coming in, 58-42.

“It was a great opportunity to play a quality team from down there,” Chambersburg coach Shawn Shreffler said. “We built an early lead, holding them to single digits in the first quarter, but didn’t really take control until the fourth quarter, when we executed at a really efficient level, and once again held them to single digits defensively.”

The Patriots trailed by 7 points entering the final period, and Chambersburg outscored them 18-9 in that last quarter to pull away.

Trojan veteran Colton Cornwell paced the team with 22 points and 12 rebounds, Grayson Kegerreis had 12 points and Landon Buhrman scored 10. Josh Rudy contributed with a season-high 7 points.

Shreffler said, “A couple of keys were limiting our turnovers to just nine and taking two charges — both by Landon. Colt had a really strong game, which earned him MVP honors.”

Chambersburg also played without starter Malachi Duhaney.
