What a way to inaugurate their new gym. The Shalom Lady Flames opened the facility in style, defeating the West Shore Christian Bobcats 68–22. Sydney Moore scored the first two varsity points ever in the new gym, giving the Flames a lead they would never relinquish.
The Flames came out fast, scoring 22 points in the first quarter while holding the Bobcats to just six. Maya Lehman fueled the early surge with three three-pointers, and once again the Flames’ relentless defense set the tone. That defensive intensity continued into the second quarter, as Shalom added 20 more points—nine from Addison Adams—while allowing only five. The Flames stormed into halftime with a commanding 42–11 lead.
Shalom’s scoring attack was well balanced throughout the night. Senior Addison Adams continued her impressive play, leading the team with 16 points. After a slow start to the season, senior Maya Lehman appears to have rediscovered her scoring touch, contributing 13 points for her fourth straight game in double figures. Sophomore Chloe Diller made the most of extended minutes, recording a career-high 12 points. Senior Emily Rebok added nine points while continuing to play lockdown defense. Sophomore Sydney Moore chipped in eight points while spending much of the game guarding the Bobcats’ top scorer. Freshman Harper Adams scored six points and continues to show steady improvement in all facets of the game, particularly on the defensive end. Julianna Myers, one of the team’s unsung heroes, consistently created opportunities for her teammates through strong defense and tough rebounding.
After the game, Assistant Coach Allen Moore praised the team’s effort, saying, “What an incredibly unselfish game everyone played this evening.”
The Lady Flames return to action on Monday, January 19th when they host the Camp Hill Lady Lions at 7:00 p.m.
