GIRLS SWIMMING
Chambersburg 115, Reading 69: The Trojans won 11 of the 12 events and earned their first victory of the season on Thursday, hitting the road to beat the Black Knights in a non-league event.

Graciana Clark

“We were all in today — the vibes were so high,” Chambersburg coach Abbie Reichelderfer said. “I’m so proud of every single one of these girls; they deserved this win.”

The Trojans (1-6) produced 3 double winners individually. Audrey Keller captured first in the 200 IM (2:24.17) and the 100 fly (1:06.36); Calla Hoffman took first in the 50 free (26.95) and 500 free (5:39.42) and Addie Zimmerman won the diving competition with 167.80 points and took the 100 free in 1:03.80.

Also nabbing individual wins were Caitlyn Rankin in the 100 backstroke (1:17.72) and Ava Grove in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.89).

Chambersburg also swept all 3 relays to pile up the points. Hoffman, Grove, Keller and Brooke Reichelderfer won the 200 medley in 2:05.16; Grove, Keller, Zimmerman and Graciana Clark win the 200 free in 1:55.46; and Reichelderfer, Clark, Zimmerman and Hoffman touched first in the 400 free.

Coach Reichelderfer said, “I want to give Graciana Clark special recognition for her best meet. She had PRs individually and in the relays, too, even though it was her first time on the A relays.”

Other personal bests came from Emily Wolfe in the backstroke and Jade Uglow in the 100 free.

Xavier Covington

BOYS SWIMMING
Chambersburg 129, Reading 52: The Trojans boosted their record to 6-1 and broke 5 pool records in a non-league victory over the Black Knights on Thursday evening.

Chambersburg placed first in all three of the relays and swam some fast times. All of the relays set new marks for the pool in Reading.

In the 200 medley, Amir Tasker, Ethan White, Cristian Pong and Alex Kaczmark swam a time of 1:39.71; the 200 freestyle team of Kaczmark, Pong, White and Tasker posted a time of 1:24.81, and the 400 free team (3:17.32) consisted of Kaczmark, White, Cullen McGraw and Tasker.

The Trojans spread the wealth around in their 7 individual wins, with only Xavier Covington winning twice, in the 200 IM (2:17.08) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.15).

Other winners were Colby Evans (200 free, 2:00.39), Pong (100 fly, 51.37 — pool record), Kaczmark (100 free, 47.86), McGraw (500 free, 4:49.37) and Tasker (100 backstroke, 53.25 — pool record).

Chambersburg coach Chad White said, “Some of the records were 40 years old, from the time when Reading had a dynasty program. The pool was interesting in the fact that the starting blocks were only 4-6 inches off the ground and they had to flood the pool to get the depth deep enough. This made for a wavy pool, which made it very hard to swim best times.

“Colby Evans swam a great 200 free, dropping 6 seconds, and that time should qualify him for Mid Penns.”
