Shippensburg 36, Greencastle-Antrim 27: The Blue Devils won 4 bouts by forfeit and got a pair of pins to knock off the Greyhounds in a season-opening dual meet on the road Thursday night in a Mid Penn Conference meet.

Only three matches were contested and Greencastle came up with two pins. At 112, Aniuta Pavlii decked Arianna Tregeser in 2:50, while at 136m Brandy Trail notched a fall in 2:51 over Ship’s Hadley Burns.

For Shippensburg, Kaylie Shope scored a pin over Kathryn Bream in 1:17.

BOYS WRESTLING
Shippensburg 36, Greencastle-Antrim 27: The Greyhounds won the final bout of the night to escape the Blue Devils in a Mid Penn Colonial match on Thursday night at Ship.

Greencastle trailed 33-27 with the last bout at 215. Ben Jansen started strong with a takedown of the Hounds’ Dale Cummings and he still led 3-1 after two periods. But in the third, Cummings earned an escape and then notched a winning takedown for a 5-3 victory.

For the Blue Devils, Silas Robertson picked up technical fall at 139 and Damien Jones secured a bonus point with a 12-0 win at 189.

Also for Greencastle, Carter Startzman (107) and Aiden Crouse won by decision and Jackson Polifka (133) and Landon Hinkle (172) took forfeits.

For Ship, Asher Horne (114), Bryson Statler (127), Richard Elliott (152) and Abe Luffy (160) scored pins, Easton Barrick (121) had a decision and Wyatt Holderbaum (285) got a forfeit.
