McConnellsburg defeats Forbes Road in season opener

McConnellsburg 69, Forbes Road 33.  On Wednesday, December 3rd, the Spartans opened the 2025-26 season away with the Forbes Road (FR) Cardinals for the season’s first conference game.  Hoyt Glenn’s strong performance helped the Spartans defeat the Cardinals by 36 points. 

The Spartans established an early 11-2 advantage and proceeded to outscore the Cards in each subsequent quarter.  The Spartans dominated the third quarter –- triggering the running clock/mercy rule — scoring 24 while holding the Cardinals to just two, with Glenn contributing 15 points.

A total of 11 players participated on the court, with eight contributing to the scoreboard and three in double figures.  Glenn topped the Spartans’ score sheet with 24 points, and contributed nine rebounds, six steals, and five assists.  Brayden Ramsey capped 13 points, with five rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block.  Jace Fletcher had 11 points with three rebounds, two steals and one assist.  Jake Hann led with four blocked shots.
