GIRLS SOCCER: McConnellsburg 5, Berlin Brothersvalley 1:  On September 18^th the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans (7-1, 5-0 ICC-S) hosted the Berlin Brothersvalley Lady Mountaineers in an ICC South game and took control from the start, closing the night with a sharp 5-1 win, and extending their win streak to three. 

The Spartans got on the board first after about 12 minutes of play on a corner kick from Serenity Rengifo and follow-up score by Gemma Gordon.  Berlin tied the game at 5:41 to go in the first half.  Then with 24 seconds remaining, Margaret McKelvey connected short range unassisted for the second Spartan’s goal putting the Spartans ahead at the half, 2-1.  In the second half it was all Spartans with three goals added.

BOYS SOCCER: McConnellsburg 8, Shalom Christian 0:  On September 16^th the McConnellsburg Spartans (9-0, 4-0 ICC-E) hosted the Shalom Christian Flames in a non-league game and took control from the start, closing the night with a decisive 8-0 win, and extending their unbeaten streak. 

Hoyt Glenn was massive force on offense for the Spartans in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.  This was senior goalie Reese Alexander’s third shutout.

This victory countered last year’s 4-0 loss at Shalom by twice the goals.
