G-A roundup: Blue Devils compete in strong volleyball tourney

Greencastle-Antrim reaches semifinals: The Blue Devils competed in a 12-team tournament at Trinity on Sunday and fared well against some high-level competition.

In the first-round of pool play, Greencastle tied for first place with Mechanicsburg, but the Wildcats won first place via tiebreaker. In the second-round pool, G-A defeated Manheim Township and Trinity, a defending state champion, and split with Altoona, despite having lost a key player to injury.

Facing the host Shamrocks again in a semifinal match that was one game to 25 points, the Blue Devils were knocked out.

Kylie Kerns totaled 69 assists and 26 kills for Greencastle, Abby Eagler blasted 55 kills and had 30 digs and Jordyn Wagner produced 25 blocks and 17 kills at the net. Kinzee Hudson added 43 digs and Kaitlyn Alvey had 48 assists.
