Jett Burger Drives 4 Runners Home In Southern Fulton Victory Over McConnellsburg

Jett Burger has been on a hitting terror the last two weeks and continued his streak as he drove in four runs on two hits to lead Southern Fulton (10-0, 3-0) past McConnellsburg 11-1 on Tuesday. Burger singled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring two.

The Indians scored eight runs in the first inning on the way to victory.  SF capitalized on 3 Spartan errors in the first that lead to the big inning.  An error scored one run, Owen Oakman singled, scoring one run, Brooks Norris drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, an error scored one run, and Burger singled, scoring two runs.

A wild pitch allowed Colt Mann to get home and extended the Southern Fulton lead to 9-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Trentin Cain (2-0)earned the win for the Indians. The pitcher gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking two. Kohen Hall took the loss for McConnellsburg. The starter went two-thirds of an inning, allowing eight runs (zero earned) on four hits, striking out none and walking three. Owen Oakman opened the game for Southern Fulton. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking none.

Southern Fulton piled up 10 hits in the game. Joel Fitz, Burger, and Kaiden Schriever each collected two hits for Southern.

Ben Sattazahn went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Hall went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead McConnellsburg in hits. 

Southern Fulton will travel to North Star for their next game on Tuesday.
