BASEBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 11, West Perry 1: The Blue Devils battled the Mustangs and the elements, but came through with a Mid Penn Colonial victory Tuesday afternoon in Elliottsburg.
“The weather was awful — we had three separate storms come through; we had a stoppage for one and played through the other two,” G-A coach Eric Shaner said. “At one point we had rain coming down sideways.
“But it was good to see our guys come back after a tough loss yesterday. We played well from the beginning of the game, so it was a nice bounce back.”
Greencastle (6-3, 5-2 MPC) posted 9 runs in the third inning.
Nolan Sullivan went 3-for-3 with 2 runs and 2 runs batted in to lead the offense. Landon Myers was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Bryce Davidson was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs batted in, Elvin Robles had a hit and 2 RBIs and Cam Rakaczweski banged a double.
Carter McCauley did the rest, putting down West Perry (6-4) on 2 hits and an unearned run in 5 innings of work. He walked 2 and fanned one.
