Fannett-Metal(3-0) hosted Forbes Road in their first home game of the season and blanked the Cardinals in a 10-0 victory.
Junior Pitcher Logan Hall got the start and threw four solid innings to shut out the Cardinals. Hall finished with 60 pitches with 43 going for strikes. He faced 17 batters giving up only 2 hits. He had 5 KO and issued a pair of walks. Senior Adam Hammond worked the 5th inning sitting the Cardinals down in order. He had a pair of strikeouts in the inning.
Camden Lupey threw all four innings for the Cardinals in taking the loss.
The Tigers scored in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. Jake Coffman walked, swiped second and moved to third on a passed ball. He scored on a Landon Arnold RBI groundout.
The Tigers had a big inning in the second inning to take command of the game. Broc Hostler walked to lead off the inning and stole second. He scored on a Logan Hall RBI single. Courtesy Runner Nick Naugle and Noah Naugle scored on a 2 run RBI single by Tucker Seibert. Seibert scored on Landon Arnold’s RBI single. Arnold swiped second and third and scored on Wade Appleby’s RBI single.
The Tigers scored a run in the 3rd to go up 7-0. Broc Hostler stroked a single and eventually scored on Logan Hall’s RBI groundout.
The Tigers scored three runs in the 4th inning when Seibert, Coffman and Arnold all scored to push the lead to 10-0. The Tigers sat the Cardinals down in order to finish with a 10-0 five inning victory.
Sawyer Hollibaugh and Lupey had the only hits for the Cardinals. Tiger Catcher Ayden Ryder made a spectacular catch on a foul ball to take the Cardinals out of an inning.
The Tigers will visit Northern Bedford on Friday at 4:30 in an Inter Divisional ICC matchup.
