Shalom Lady Flames fall to Allegheny

The Shalom Lady Flames hit the road again on Monday afternoon, traveling to Cumberland, MD, to face the Allegheny Lady Campers. The Campers proved too much for the Flames, securing a 55-25 victory behind 22 points from Penn State-bound track athlete Avery Miller. This marks the Flames’ third consecutive loss following their impressive 12-game winning streak.

The Flames started slowly, trailing 8-2 at the end of the first quarter. Despite a strong second quarter from Addison Adams, with 6 points, they still found themselves down 19-8 at halftime. Coming out strong in the third, the Flames scored the first 6 points of the second half to pull within 5, but the Campers quickly regained control with a 7-point run to extend their lead back to 12. The Flames struggled to recover from that run and were unable to overcome a tough 19-6 foul differential.

Adams led the Flames with 14 points, while freshman Sydney Moore added 5 points and was strong again on the boards. The Campers’ defense stifled the Flames’ usually potent guard duo of Maya Lehman and Emily Rebok, holding them to a combined 6 points and making it difficult for the team to generate offense.

Next, the Flames will host the Mountain Ridge Lady Miners from Frostburg, MD, in their final regular-season home game at 5:00 p.m.
