BOYS BASKETBALL
McConnellsburg 56, Mount Union 43.  The Spartans visited the Mount Union Trojans and played a cross-conference game on Monday, February 3^rd.  After trailing by one point at halftime, the Spartans took control in the third quarter and went on to win the game.

The Spartans and Trojans battled back and forth the first quarter with four three-pointers by the Spartans (three of Brayden Ramsey’s four game treys) to win the quarter 18-14.  The Trojans battled back and outscored the Spartans 13-8 to take a one-point lead at halftime.  In the third quarter, the Spartans went on a twelve-point unanswered scoring run by the quarter’s end posting 17 and holding the Trojans to six.  The quarter ended with a ten-point Spartan lead, 43-33.  The last quarter continued to be a Spartan challenge more than previous dominating events.  The Trojans showed a strong effort and hustle and battled for rebounds and second shots, but their shots did not fall.  By the buzzer, the Spartans had added three points more than the Trojans’ best to secure a 13-point victory, and a game final 56-43.  That run inevitably set the gap for the game and the decision for Spartans to win.

The Spartans’ scoring was led by Brayden Ramsey, with 20 points, then Hoyt Glenn, with a notable double-double of 15 points and ten steals.

This victory extends the Spartans’ impressive record (17-1 overall, 6-0 ICC South), marking their 16th consecutive win and their sixteenth victory by 10 or more points.
