G-A roundup: Big Spring defeats short-handed Blue Devils

BOYS BASKETBALL
Big Spring 67, Greencastle-Antrim 54: Despite playing without 2 key starters, the Blue Devils gave the Bulldogs a real battle in a non-league scrap in Newville on Monday night.

Carter McCauley and Landen Swain, two of Greencastle’s top 3 scorers, were not able to play by either injury or sickness.

But G-A (7-12) stayed in touch with Big Spring (14-5) most of the way, after falling behind 19-10 after one quarter. The Bulldogs knocked in 10 3-pointers to account for nearly half of their point total.

The Blue Devils did put three players in double figures for the first time in 9 games. Alex Albright scored 19 points, including 12 in the first half, Kolten Johnson scored 15 of his career-high 17 points in the second half, and Noah Parks contributed 10 points.

For Big Spring, Ayden Martinez scored 19 points, Aiden Sallie had 15 and Alan Walker 14.
