Shalom Lady Flames defeat Southern Fulton

The Shalom Lady Flames triumphed over the Southern Fulton Lady Indians 53-40 on Saturday during an exciting “Flames Frenzy” basketball day at Shalom.

The Flames came out strong, scoring 16 points in the first quarter, while the Indians stayed competitive with 11 points. Shalom extendeits lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Indians 15-11 to take a 31-18 advantage into halftime.

Claire Harvey powered her team with 10 game-high 24 points in the third quarter, helping the Indians outscore the Flames by 2 and stay within reach. The fourth quarter began with an 8-0 run from the Indians, cutting Shalom’s lead to just 3 points with four minutes remaining. However, after a crucial timeout, the Flames regrouped and responded with a decisive 9-0 run in the next two minutes, putting the game out of reach and securing the hard-fought victory.

Addison Adams had a stellar performance, leading the Flames with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Maya Lehman contributed 14 points and 6 rebounds, while Emily Rebok added 7 points and 6 rebounds despite limited minutes due to foul trouble. Freshman Sydney Moore continued to impress with her strong defense, adding 6 points and 4 rebounds, and Julianna Myers stepped up in Kaitlyn Thomas’s absence, leading the team with 10 rebounds.

It was a well-earned win against a determined Lady Indians team that fought hard until the end. The Lady Flames will next play the Fannett-Metal Lady Tigers on Monday night at home, with a 6:45 PM tip-off.
