Southern Fulton suffers double overtime loss

Forbes Road played Southern Fulton in an ICC South division contest on Friday evening, with the Cardinals defeating the Indians in 2 overtimes by the score of 52 to 45.   The Indians (4-7, 0-3 ICC South) trailed 17 to 15 at the half but rallied in the third, taking a 3-point lead going into the final quarter.  With the clock ticking down in the final minute and the game tied at 36, both teams had a chance to take the lead but couldn’t convert.

The first Overtime period was played with each team finishing with 5 points and heading into a second OT.  In the second OT period, a 3 pointer by the Indian’s Sam Stotler was answered with a 3 pointer from the Cardinal’s Jacoby Knepper.  Knepper then converted another basket and Forbes Road hit 2 more foul shots in the final minute, to close out the game.

Southern Fulton was led by Gaven Mellott with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks.  Sam Stotler had 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.  Trentin Cain had 11 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 blocks.  Teagan Ritz had, 3 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists.  Dayton Carpenter added 2 points, and 7 rebounds.  Jacoby Knepper led the Cardinals with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists.  Southern Fulton will travel to Meyersdale on Monday evening, for a non-conference matchup.
