Northern York 58, Greencastle-Antrim 39: The Polar Bears played a stingy defense in the middle two quarters and used that advantage to hand the Blue Devils a Mid Penn Colonial defeat on the home court Friday night.

Northern led 17-15 after one quarter, but between a strong Bears defense and unforced errors, Greencastle was outscored 27-11 in that time span. G-A had 20 turnovers in the first half alone.

For the Blue Devils (2-4, 0-2 MPC), Meadow Gambacurta swished four 3-pointers and led the team with 14 points, and added 4 rebounds. Teammate Sophie Fries scored 8 points and hauled down 6 rebounds.

For Northern (5-0, 3-0 MPC), Delaney Moyer scored 16 points and Anna Lehman had 13.

Northern York 68, Greencastle-Antrim 52: The Polar Bears held the Blue Devils to only 7 points in the second quarter to take a 37-25 lead at halftime and collected a Mid Penn Colonial victory on Friday night in Dillsburg.

Greencastle (1-3, 0-2 MPC) could not defend two Northern players in the first period — Jaiden Giovanetti knocked down four of his five 3-pointers for 12 points and Ryland Yinger scored 10 of his 21 points as the Bears went ahead 27-18. Alex Albright scored 8 in the first period to keep G-A in touch.

For the Blue Devils, Alex Albright hit double figures for the fourth straight game, this time with 17 points. Noah Parks added 11 points to the cause.

Yinger ended up with 21 points, Giovanetti had 17 and Matt Kendall added 15 for Northern (2-2, 1-1 MPC).
