Greencastle-Antrim 4, Bermudian Springs 3: The Blue Devils had a great first half and led 4-0 at the break over the Eagles, then had to hang for dear life to score the win in a non-league game at Kaley Field on Saturday.
“A win is a win, but it might have been the ugliest win I have ever seen,” G-A coach Tim Carey said. “We owned the first half, and then just fell asleep. We committed a lot of unforced errors in front of our own goal and almost let the W slip away.”
Cooper Noblit opened the scoring for the Blue Devils (5-10), then Eli Christophel scored from a pass by Nolan Sullivan. Caleb Fritz then converted a penalty kick, and Garrett Oberholzer ended the first-half scoring with a goal, assisted by Mason DeVaughn.
Bermudian Springs (6-11) led in shots (12-11) and corner kicks (5-3). Joe Lofton made 2 saves for G-A and Evan Shaul made 4.
