FIELD HOCKEY
Central Dauphin 3, Chambersburg 2: The Rams hung on for a one-goal victory over the Trojans on Wednesday afternoon at Trojan Stadium; earlier in the season, CD had beaten Chambersburg, 9-1.
“Central Dauphin is a great team (9-8-1), so it’s huge that we kept the score close today,” Trojan coach Kelsey Baker said. “Everything really came together and every girl played their heart out.”
The first goal for Chambersburg (1-13, 0-13 MPC) came off a penalty corner. Jaxin Frazer made the pass that Reagan Barrett batted behind the goalie.
Kendal Flory scored the second goal, unassisted.
Baker said, “Kendal Flory and Jaxin Frazer had great games today. Those two worked well together and made it happen.”
GIRLS TENNIS
Chambersburg 4, Harrisburg 1: Despite not having their No. 1 singles player, the Trojans picked up a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory over the Cougars on Wednesday afternoon at Norlo Park.
Chambersburg (4-8, 2-3 MPC) won for the third time in the last 4 matches.
Leah Wadel moved up to No. 1 and won 6-0, 6-2, and Zoe Dereef moved up to No. 2 and collected a 6-0, 6-0 win.
Reese Miller and Shelby Newman team up to win 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Gretta Hill and Julianna Small prevailed 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
At No. 3 singles, Gwen Sefcheck dropped a hard-fought 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 match.
