GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Chambersburg 3, Mechanicsburg 0: The Trojans won for the 11th time in the last 12 matches, dumping the Wildcats 25-18, 31-29 and 25-20 on the road in a Mid Penn Commonwealth contest Tuesday evening.
“This was a good road win against a solid Mechanicsburg team,” Chambersburg coach Ty Frelin said. “They have a scrappy defense so we had to make the plays. It was also a special night for our libero, Karley Skultety. Not only was it her birthday, but she tallied the 1,000th did of her career.”
For the match, Skultety posted 15 digs and led the team with 13 service points.
Marah Lehman led Chambersburg (12-3, 6-3 MPC) in digs with 17 and 11 kills. Alayna Jones collected 10 points, 10 kills and 13 digs. Nizaya Hawkins led in blocks with 2 and Ava Zeigler rolled up 33 assists. Riley Evans contributed 8 kills.
FIELD HOCKEY
State College 6, Chambersburg 1: The Trojans were able to hold the Little Lions down Tuesday afternoon at Trojan Stadium, but still lost a rainy Mid Penn Commonwealth game.
“We cut the score in half from the last time we played State College,” Chambersburg coach Kelsey Baker said. “The defense played very well.”
The Trojans (1-10, 0-10 MPC) scored off a penalty corner. Jaxin Frazer sent in the original hit into the circle, and Reagan Barrett scored off the post on a redirect.
