G-A roundup: Volleyball team moves to 5-0 start

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 3, Red Land 0: The Blue Devils rolled to a shutout non-league victory over the Patriots on Saturday afternoon in Lewisberry.

Greencastle raised its record to 5-0 with 3-0 wins in each of them. Saturday’s game scores were a totally dominating 25-9, plus 25-16 and 25-14.

Alaina Garling put together a nice all-around match, posting 5 kills, 10 service points (with 4 aces), 2 blocks and 11 assists.

Kylie Kerns was credited with 5 kills, 9 digs and 22 assists, and Wren Roberts had 8 kills, 10 points (3 aces) and 6 digs.

Several other Greencastle players found the stat sheet — Kinzee Hudson put up 8 points and 9 digs; Morgan Kline had 6 points and 10 digs, Abby Eagler posted 10 kills, Addison Miller blocked two balls and Emma Pool attempted 8 kills and scored on 6 of them.

s bad as it looked on the scoreboard, we did not play a terrible game,” G-A coach Tim Carey said. “We were level at 1-1 until just before halftime. We made some youthful errors at critical points in the game and we paid for it.”

Liam Fulton scored the goal for Greencastle (2-3, 2-2 MPC), with an assist going to Eli Christophel. The Bubblers held a 14-8 margin in shots taken.
