BOYS BASKETBALL

“We did draw up a play, but that basket was kind of just in the flow of the game,” G-A coach Todd Stephens said.

Greencastle (8-1) has now won 7 straight games, including the last 6 without four-year starter Conner Wright, out with an injury.

Stephens said, “Conner is a big piece of what we do, but the guys have bought into doing their roles and stepping up for the team. We have 11 seniors of the 12 guys on our roster, and they trust and believe in each other.

“It’s beautiful what they’re doing — it’s a great group of guys. You can hear them talking about doing things as a team and they are really sharing the ball well.”

Eli Sterling scored 20 points lead lead Greencastle, and he was also named the tournament MVP. McCauley scored 13 points and Surzano Solomon added 9, while Logan Alvey made the all-tournament team.

Leo McCoy fired in 22 points for East Pennsboro (4-4), and Dayrell Everett added 16.
