BOYS: James Buchanan (1-2) picked up their first win of the season defeating host  Southern Fulton in their season opener  68 to 58.

The Indians (0-1) trailed 27 to 13 at the half and could not overcome the deficit.

Southern Fulton was led by Hunter Ward who had a game high of 33 points to go with 3 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Paul Hendershot added 8 points.  Ethan Mellott had 5 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Jett Burger had 5 points, and 6 rebounds.  Sam Stotler chipped in 2 points with 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.  Trentin Cain had 3 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

James Buchanan was led by Jake Miller with 20 points.

Southern Fulton plays at home on Friday night in a non-division ICC game with Tussey Mt.

Trentin Cain led SF with 11 points.  Avery Hoffeditz led JB with 14 points.

GIRLS: The Southern Fulton Indians (1-0) hosted the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs Tuesday night and came away 44-30 win in their opening night to the season. With the first game jitters, the Indians struggled to find their groove on offense, but put together a dominant second half allowing the Bulldogs to only score 9 points.

The Indians trailed 22-21 at the half but outscored the Bulldogs in the second half 22-9/

Indians Head Coach Wilhemina Wilt said “We came out a little slow but stayed composed throughout the entire 32 minutes and played our game of basketball. It was awesome to see how the girls worked together for the first game and the positivity and teamwork they had for each other even when the game was close.  We have a great group of players that care for the game and for each other and it is an honor to get to watch them play basketball together. “

Elder led with 12 points. Stotler and Pittman each had 9. Johnson had 8 and Harvey had 6.

The Indians return to play at Tussey Mountain Thursday December 7th.
