G-A roundup: Paci, Parks race well at Carlisle Invitational

Paci, Parks earn high places: The Carlisle Invitational cross country event took place Saturday and a pair of Greencastle-Antrim runners had fine days.

In the Girls Challenge race, the Blue Devils’ Claire Paci placed third with a time of 18:15.9. She was outpaced by only Ruby Schwelm of Tatnall, Del. (18:03.6) and Kaitlyn Highduch of Gov. Mifflin (18:06.7).

Teammate Katherine Board put up a 70th-place finish, in a time of 21:17.1.

In the Boys Challenge race, Hayden Parks of Greencastle came in fourth with a time of 15:47.1. The winner was James Partlow of Thomas Jefferson, in 15:18.7.

Also placing for the Blue Devils was Joel Amstutz, who took 45th with a time of 16:51.6.

Waynesboro’s Isabella Ruefel (20:44.0) placed 49th in the girls race and Maggie Ruefel was 73rd in 21:20.8.
