Big plays from Susquehanna Township doomed the Shippensburg Greyhounds in a 28-19 loss.
Torian Evans opened the scoring with a 28 yard throw to Zikere Leaks to open the scoring for the Indians.
Mark Carothers jr.’s 40 yard reverse run set up Brady Maciejewski’s 1 yard TD run to put the Hound up 7-6. Maciejewski hit Kaden Shope for 38 yards and a 13-6 lead in the second quarter.
Evans hit Jarret Kern for 21 and Lex Cyrus, with 14 seconds left in the half, for 19 to put the home squad up 20-13 at the break.
The Hounds had a 12 play drive in the third quarter, but ended with a lost fumble at the Indians 15.
Susquehanna Township stopped the Hounds on fourth down just over the mid-field stripe and quickly went up two scores. Dorian Smith ripped off a 58 yard run for a 28-13 lead.
The Hounds came right back with a four play scoring drive. Maciejewski hit Shope twice for 12 and 15 yards and the Elijah Bailey for 25 to the nine. Maciejewski scrambled and rambled in from nine yards out, but the hounds were unable to convert the two point play.
Smith led the Indians with 197 yards rushing and Evans added 158 via the air.
Shippensburg’s Maciejewski had a career high 190, with Shope hauling in a career high 6-107.
