Fannett-Metal falls to Claysburg-Kimmel

Fannett-Metal(7-8) hosted Claysburg-Kimmel on Thursday in an ICC league contest and fell to the Bulldogs 4-2.  The Tigers were supposed to travel to Claysburg but the game was moved to Fannett-Metal when Claysburg didn’t have a field available.

After three scoreless innings, the Bulldogs struck for four runs in the 4th inning off Tiger Starter Drew Goshorn.

The Tigers scored two runs in the top of the 5th to cut the lead in half but they couldn’t get no closer in falling to the Bulldogs.  Tucker Seibert had an RBI single in the inning and Landon Arnold drew a bases loaded walk to bring in the other run.

Goshorn allowed four runs on four hits in 3.2 innings.  He had five strikeouts and three walks.  Adam Hammond came in relief and pitched 2.1 scoreless innings.

In a game that only featured eight total hits, the Tigers could only manage three of them. Drew Goshorn, Wade Appleby and Tucker Seibert had the hits.

The Tigers will travel to Everett on Tuesday for a 4:30 contest.
