Southern Fulton Indians (13-1, 10-1) collected six hits to McConnellsburg’s three, but still fell 5-2 on Wednesday at McConnellsburg. The rain shortened game was called after 5 innings due to unsafe playing conditions.
McConnellsburg scored four runs in the third inning. Reese Alexander, Kyle Romig, and Gavin Fowler powered the big inning with RBIs.
Landin Gress got the win for McConnellsburg. Gress surrendered two runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Cade Gress threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Jett Burger took the loss for Southern Fulton Indians. Burger lasted two and a third innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out three.
Dane Harvey hit a long home run in the fourth inning to close the gap to 5-2, but the Indians could not inch closer. Jett Burger led Southern Fulton Indians with two hits in two at bats.
Ryder Hollinshead went 2-for-2 at the plate for McConnellsburg. He hit a solo home run in the second to put the Spartans up 1-0.
The Indians are back in action on Friday as the travel to Northern Bedford to take on the Panthers in a double header. The first game starts at 2pm.
