The Southern Fulton Indians improved to (10-0, 7-0) tonight as they snatched the lead late in the game for a hard fought 5-4 victory over the visiting Everett Warriors on Thursday.
The Indians were down 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth. Leadoff hitter Levi Souders was hit by a pitch. Pinch hitter, Paul Hendershot, then doubled to right center field to tie the game at four. After a Kasey Fitz fielders choice moved Hendershot to 3rd, Ethan Powell singled on a 1-1 count, to plate the go ahead run.
Everett took the early lead by scoring three runs in the third inning, on a home run by Sid Grove.
Southern Fulton Indians put up three runs in the fifth inning. The rally was led by a walk by Jett Burger and a huge home run blast by Dane Harvey.
Powell earned the victory on the hill for Southern Fulton Indians. The hurler surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, walking zero.
Ethan Mellott started the game for Southern Fulton. The ace went five innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out 4.
The Indians travel to Fannett-Metal on Monday to take on the Tigers at 4:30pm.
