McConnellsburg boys win over Shalom, Spartan girls lose to Flames

BOYS: McConnellsburg outscored Shalom 27-0 in the third quarter to roll to a 71-43 win over Shalom Saturday. Spartans Coach Joshua Lowery said “The Flames played us tough for the first half taking us into halftime with a score of 27-27. I told the boys at halftime we needed to pick our defense up and take smarter shoots on offense, we outscored the Flames 27-0 in the third quarter to lead 54-27.”

McConnellsburg (18-3 overall) (12-2 ICC) leading scores for the Spartans where Kyle Romig 19 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, Landon Ramsey 17 points, 6 steals, 5 assist,5 rebounds, 2 blocks, Wyatt Hershey 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assist, Kole Truax 12 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal, 3 blocks, Braydon Ramsey, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists.

GIRLS: McConnellsburg lost to Shalom Saturday night in a non-league matchup 40-29.

Leading scorer for McConnellsburg was Maggie Mellott with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Serenity Rengifo added 6 points, Janiah Lowery added 5 points, and Nevaeh Earley had 5 points and 10 rebounds. Molly Mellott also added 4 points.

High scorer for Shalom was Addison Adams with 10.
