Fannett-Metal traveled to Forbes Road on Friday night and lost 43-28 to the Cardinals. The Cardinals took a 16-4 lead into halftime as the Tigers came out ice cold from the field. “We missed some easy shots early in the game and after that we just seem to lose all confidence in our ability to score the basketball. They play their 2-3 zone well with their size advantage, and when you are not shooting well it makes for a long night”, Coffman said.
The Tigers shot just 20% from the field tonight including 0 for 19 from behind the arc. Foul Shooting wasn’t much better as the Tigers went 8 for 20(40%) at the line.
The Tigers made a few adjustments at halftime and outscored the Cardinals 15-12 in the third quarter. But Forbes went on a 5-0 early in the 4th quarter to put the Tigers away. “Give Forbes Road credit, they executed their game plan well tonight and they deserved to win”, Coffman said.
Senior Brady Skinner led all scorers on the night with 15 points. Fellow senior David Knepper added 12 points.
Fannett-Metal returns home on Tuesday versus Everett.
