G-A roundup: Blue Devil girls outscore Bermudian

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 74, Bermudian Springs 52: The Blue Devils had their highest scoring output of the season, and also gave up the second-most points, but it still resulted in a 22-point non-league win over the Eagles in a home game Thursday night.

Callie Izer

Bermudian (11-9) jumped out to a 9-3 lead early, but Greencastle (18-1) rebounded to lead 16-12 after one. Strong defense and five 3-pointers boosted G-A’s lead to 19 points by halftime, despite the Eagles’ Hannah Metzger scoring 15 of her 18 points in the opening half.

Bermudian made a push in the the third period and had it down to 12-point deficit a couple of times, but the balance of the Blue Devils (4 players in double figures) and the pressure defense (23 steals) proved to be too much.
Greencastle’s scoring was led by Mia Libby (16), Haley Noblit (15), Rylee Henson (15), Ainsley Swindell (12, a career-high), Callie Izer (8, a career-high) and Shaina Overcash (6).
