Chambersburg 104, Trinity 62: The Trojans used their depth to capture a non-league victory over the Shamrocks on Thursday evening in Shiremanstown.
Chambersburg (7-1) took first place events, but had multiple high placewinners in most events to win their dual season finale.
Derek Estep set the pace for the Trojans, winning the 100 butterfly in 52.76 and the 500 freestyle in 4:51.13.
Jed Ritchie took first place in the 50 freestyle in 23.2, and Joseph Decker was the winner in the 200 free in 2:01.15.
Chambersburg also won the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. The medley team (1:38.90) was Ritchie, Brandon Estep, Alex Kaczmark and Derek Estep, while the 200 free team (1:35.28) was the Esteps, Ritchie and Eugene Covington.
Up next for the Trojans is the Mid Penn Conference championships Feb. 10-11.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Chambersburg 118, Trinity 45: Taking first place in each event except two, the Trojans rolled to a non-league victory on the road against the Shamrocks on Thursday night.
Abby Caltrider had a good meet for Chambersburg (4-4), winning the 500 freestyle in 5:49.13 and the 100 backstroke in 1:09.47, and was on two winning relays.
“The girls ended their regular season on a high note,” Trojan coach Hali Cormany said. “Many of the newer swimmers dropped a lot of time tonight, so that was very exciting to see.
“Our 50 free and 500 free were also outstanding events tonight. It’s an exciting time as we prepare for Mid Penns and the Polar Plunge.”
McKenzie Wicks raced to a time of 26.95 to capture the 50 free. Also taking individual wins for Chambersburg were Lauren Markle in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.31), Lily Evans in the 100 free (1:00.25) and Layne Rydbom in the 200 IM (2:21.27).
Caltrider, Margot Ritchie, Rydbom and Maddie Shifler combined to win the 200 medley relay in 2:00.92; Evans, Markle, Brynn Greenwood and Wicks took the 200 free relay in 1:54.80; and Hailey Fegan, Evans, Kayla Wolfe and Caltrider came through in the 400 free relay in 4:14.01.
