Chambersburg (13-2) finished 5-1 and in second place behind Central Dauphin in the division.

“The kids did what they were supposed to do, and we looked solid throughout the lineup,” Trojan coach Matt Mentzer said.

Earning pins for Chambersburg were Zach Evans (215), Zach Sherman (121), Luke Mentzer (127), Ashton Romberger (133), Tyler Frye (145), Ivan Mixell (160), Jaccob Stoner (172) and Aiden Hight (189), and Ben Hoover won by forfeit at 107.

Five of the pins came in the second period, and two in the first, with Luke Mentzer’s time of 0:24 the fastest.

Hight took on one of the better wrestlers for Cedar Cliff, Mike Jones, and dominated before getting a fall.

Coach Mentzer said, “The feature match was at 189, and Aiden was in complete control with two early takedowns. He finished him off (in 2:33) going feet to back for the fall.”

Chambersburg makes up Wednesday’s postponed match at Shippensburg on Saturday at 1:00. By Saturday evening, the Trojans will know their pairings for Tuesday’s first round of the District 3 Team Championships. They will likely finish No. 5 and hit the road, or No. 4 and host.
