G-A roundup: Good defense helps Blue Devil girls top Ship

Greencastle-Antrim 54, Shippensburg 33: The Greyhounds set up in a 2-3 zone defense, but six 3-pointers in the first half by the Blue Devils boosted them to a big lead in a Mid Penn Colonial victory on Friday night on the road.

The victory earned win No. 200 for G-A coach Mike Rhine.
Greencastle (14-1, 9-1 MPC) switched defenses and pressure and held Shippensburg (9-7) under its season average of points.
Mia Libby led the Blue Devils with 16 points, Rylee Henson had 15, Haley Noblit scored 10 and Shaina Overcash contributed 8.
Also, Libby had 7 rebounds, Henson had 5 boards and 4 assists, Noblit added 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Overcash had 4 boards and 3 steals.

Shippensburg 50, Greencastle-Antrim 44: The Greyhounds made 9 of 12 free throws in the last quarter to fend off the Blue Devils in a Mid Penn Colonial game Friday night in Greencastle.
Cole Trn (14 points) made 5 of 6 foul shots and Graison Michajluk (12 points) was 4-for-4 at the line in the last 8 minutes for Shippensburg (7-6). Jackson Stought added 9 points.
Logan Alvey scored 12 points to pace the Blue Devils (10-6, 7-3 MPC), which had a three-game win streak halted. Blake Shadoan also scored 8 points.
