G-A roundup: Blue Devil girls run record to 11-0

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 54, Waynesboro 30: The Blue Devil girls remained unbeaten, taking down the rival Maidens in a Mid Penn Colonial Division game Tuesday night on the road.

Greencastle (11-0, 6-0 MPC) played good defense to bolt to a 45-19 lead after three quarters.

Mia Libby and Rylee Henson helped make up for the absence of Haley Noblit. Libby penetrated to the basket in the first half for either points or for passes to open teammates, and finished with 23 points. Henson focused on defense in the first half, but knocked in 15 points in the second half.

Libby added 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Henson had 6 boards and 2 assists. Also, Meadow Gambacurta contributed 5 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocked shots, while Ainsley Swindell had 5 points and 6 boards.

Waynesboro is 4-8.

Waynesboro 57, Greencastle-Antrim 36: The Indians continued their strong season by blowing out a close game in the third period to capture a Mid Penn Colonial victory over the Blue Devils in Greencastle on Tuesday night.

Waynesboro (12-1) led 23-20 after two quarters, but then took Greencastle (7-5, 4-2 MPC) down by a 20-7 count in the third period.

For the Blue Devils, Conner Wright scored 9 points, Adam Horst had 8 and Logan Alvey chipped in 7.

The Indians were led by Jaylon Bean, who tallied 24 points. Ryan Shaffer scored 9 of his 13 in the decisive third quarter and Tanyon Shaull added 10 points.
