Fannett-Metal hosted Tussey Mountain in an ICC matchup and lost by a score of 58-48. The Tigers trailed 11-10 after the first quarter. It was the second quarter that proved to be the difference in the game as the Titans took control of the boards and converted a handful of offensive rebounds into easy points. The Titans went into the half leading 36-22.
For the third consecutive game the Tigers showed a no quit mentality and battled back in the fourth quarter but the early deficit was too much for the young Tigers to overcome. “We have shown the capability to compete in every game so far this season, but we have to be more consistent and put together four quarters of good basketball if we expect to win these tight games” , Fannett- Metal Head Coach Paul Coffman said.
The Tigers would outscore the Titans in the second half but it wasn’t enough as the Titans hung on for the victory.
The Tigers were lead by Junior Drew Goshorn with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Sophomores Broc Hostler and Evan Wingert had 12 points each while sophomore Landon Arnold chipped in 9 points. Arnold also had 5 rebounds. Junior Daxton Detweiler added 6 rebounds. The Titans were led in scoring by Luke Barnett with 16 points and Gavin Hall with 10 points. The Tigers were 10 for 20(50%) from the foul line tonight. The Titans out rebounded the Tigers 33-25.
