Shalom uses big fourth quarter to defeat Grace Academy

The Shalom Lady Flames came from behind win for a 39-26 win over inter league rival the Grace Academy Knights. The Knights got a quick start ending the first quarter leading 12-5. The Knights continued to lead until the Flames tied the game toward the end of the third quarter. The Flames exploded with 19 points in the fourth quarter to get the win scoring 11 in the quarter from the free throw line. The Flames struggled early but stepped up defensively, after allowing 12 points in the first quarter they only allowed 14 for the remainder of the game.

Joanna Rheam played her best defensive game of the year. Katie Montero gave the Flames some solid defense at the end of the first half.  Addison Adams played shut-down defense on Grace’s top scorer holding her to half her usual point total.

The Flames out rebounded the Knights 46 to 28 – led by Jaicee Keller with 14, Addison Adams with 11 and Maya Lehman with 8. Seven Lady Flames found the scoring column led by Adams with 13 and Lehman with 12.
