Greencastle-Antrim 67, James Buchanan 37: The Blue Devils took control early and raised their record to 4-1 (2-0 MPC) by handling the Rockets in a Mid Penn Colonial home game on Friday night.

Greencastle shot 50% from the field (29-for-58) and was able to use turnovers to kick-start its offense.

Connor Wright piled up 20 points to lead the Blue Devils, and he added 6 rebounds. Three players hit for 10 points for G-A — Jordan Hunt, Surzano Solomon and Jackson Eby — which were career highs for Eby and Hunt.

Solomon, staring in place of injured Eli Sterling, also had 5 assists and Blake Shadoan contributed 4 steals.

The stats for the Rockets (0-4) were not available.

Greencastle-Antrim 56, James Buchanan 44: The Blue Devils jumped ahead of the Rockets 20-11 after one quarter, then JB played them tough the rest of the way, with G-A only outscoring them by 3 points in the final three periods of a Mid Penn Colonial game in Mercersburg on Friday night.

James Buchanan (3-3) had a couple of runs, but could never get closer than four points of Greencastle (5-0, 2-0 MPC). Sophia Stoner tallied 11 of her 15 points in the second half for JB.

Rylee Henson scored 10 of her 13 points in the first half and G-A’s big first quarter was aided by three made 3-pointers.

For the Blue Devils, Mia Libby led the way with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals and 6 assists. Haley Noblit scored 13 and added 2 assists and 3 steals, Shaina Overcash had 8 points and 5 rebounds and Henson added 5 boards.
