Greencastle-Antrim 2, Northern York 2: The Blue Devils’ unblemished record came to an end with a tie against the Polar Bears, but G-A remained in charge of the Mid Penn Colonial Division after Wednesday night’s game in Dillsburg, thanks to some dramatics by Rylee Henson.
Greencastle (14-0-1, 11-0-1 MPC) is now ranked No. 3 in Class 3A in District 3 and Northern (14-1-1) is fourth.
“It was a very tough game tonight,” G-A coach Chris Noblit said. “We were tested far more in this game than in any we have played this season.
“Rylee Henson scored the first goal on the farthest free kick I have ever seen. I believe the ball was pretty close to midfield, maybe within 10 feet. The ball sailed over the keeper and in. They scored a goal later in the first half.
“In the second half they scored first and led 2-1 all the way until the final 10 seconds when Rylee scored again off a Haley Noblit corner kick.”
The teams then played two overtimes with no scoring.

Northern York 3, Greencastle-Antrim 1: The Blue Devils were tied until late in the first half but the Polar Bears went on to take a Mid Penn Colonial victory Wednesday night at Kaley Field.
“We knew today was going to be a tough matchup — Northern is a very quality side that is going to make some noise in the district tournament,” G-A coach Aric Bruner said. “Our first half was really good; I thought we had some chances early on that could’ve changed the game, but we just couldn’t put it in the back of the net.”
Northern (12-3) scored first, then Mitch Lagoe tied it for the Blue Devils (10-5, 7-5 MPC) off an assist by Garrett Decker. The Bears got an insurance goal in the second half.
Ethan Ford made 9 saves and Sam Kessinger made 6 stops for Northern.
