Chambersburg roundup: Camryn Kiser hits the record books

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Kiser posts excellent time: Camryn Kiser had a day for Chambersburg in the prestigious Carlisle Invitational on Saturday.

Kiser posted a time of 17:57.0 in the event, which was good for second place. It was also the second-fastest time any Trojan female runner has had in a 5K race (Abby Yourkavitch hit 17:54 in 2017), and she was also the second girl to break 18:00.

Kiser was bested only by Claire Paci of Greencastle-Antrim (17:54.3).

Chambersburg placed third as a team in the invitational.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Snyder places 17th: At the annual Carlisle Invitational on Saturday, Chambersburg got a 17th-place finish from Ari Snyder. His time of 16:04 was a personal best. The Trojans placed 16th as a team.

GIRLS SOCCER
Chambersburg 2, Waynesboro 0: Ahsia Thomas tallied both goals for the Trojans in a non-league win over the Maidens on Saturday afternoon at Trojan Stadium.

Lily Nichter and Bree Paetow picked up assists for Chambersburg (5-4), who won their fourth straight game.

Chambersburg 3, Hempfield 0: The Trojans captured their sixth straight win with a huge non-league won over Hempfield on the road Saturday morning.

Chambersburg (7-2) is ranked No. 3 in District 3 Class 6A; Hempfield (5-2-2) is now No. 5. The Trojans two losses have come to No. 1 Cumberland Valley and No. 2 Central Dauphin.

Michael Cespedes scored two goals for the Trojans and Isa Barrios tallied one. Assists were by Cohen Redding, Mario Weisman and Ayden Findlay.
