The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers gave the St, Maria Goretti Gaels all they could handle Monday before dropping a 3-1 decision in a non-league girls volleyball match.
The Blazers (3-6) lost the first two games by identical scores of 25-16. However, they rallied for a 27-25 victory in the third game and lost by a tight 25-20 margin in the final set.
Julia Waltz scored 11 aces and made four kills to lead the Blazers. Reagan Witmer added six kills and three blocks, and Chloe Shunk led with 15 assists. Makenna Morris contributed five digs.
The Blazers won the JV match, 2-1.
