Southern Fulton captures District V Championship

The SoFo Indians had no trouble on offense in the PIAA District V Championship game. The #2 seeded Indians (18-5) racked up 13 hits to win big over the #1 seeded Rockwood Rockets 13-3.

In the first inning, the Indians got their offense started when Dane Harvey tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring Ethan Powell and Konner Pittman.

The offensive onslaught by SoFo racked up 13 hits. The Indians were led by Harvey (2 hits/2rbis), Trayton Younker (3hits/3rbis), and Zach Price (2hits/3rbis). Konner Pittman finished 3-5 on the day as well.

Holden Stotler was the winning pitcher for SoFo Indians. The righty lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing zero hits and two runs while striking out four. Ethan Mellott threw two and a third innings in relief to close it out.

SoFo Indians tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Kasey Fitz and Levi Souders led the way with three.

The Indians will host Williamsburg in the first round of the State Tournament on Monday, June 6 at a time TBA.
