Greencastle-Antrim 11, James Buchanan 4: The Blue Devils won their fourth straight game and got back to .500 for the season with a Mid Penn Colonial victory over the Rockets on Tuesday afternoon in Mercersburg.

G-A freshman Meadow Gambacurta was 2-for-4 with a home run and four runs batted in, and classmate Caroline Logsdon went 1-for-3 with a double and knocked in three runs.

The Blue Devils (8-8, 6-5 MPC) held a 5-3 lead after four innings, then scored twice in the fifth and four times in the sixth to pull away. Gambacurta belted a two-run homer to centerfield in the fifth. In the sixth, Sydney Orndorff hit an RBI single, Brianna Woodring walked with the bases loaded and Gambacurta brought in two more runs with a single to center.

Winning pitcher Mackenzie Wingert (4-2) also contributed two RBIs. On the mound, Wingert alowed 10 hits, but only three unearned runs. She walked three and fanned three.

For the Rockets, Sophia Stoner was 3-for-4 with a double and home run.

Greencastle (10-3, 8-2 MPC) managed only seven hits — two by Aidan Grudzinski — but were helped by seven walks by the JB pitchers.

In the bottom of the first, G-A loaded the bases, and with two outs, Shaun Eby delivered a clutch two-run single to right and a 2-0 lead. In the three-run third, Grudzinski led off with a single and Connor Rohm walked. Darren Kline singled in a run and, with two outs, Briggs Remenick hit an RBI single.
