BOYS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 39, Camp Hill 34: The Lions took their first lead of the second half with about 1:25 left, but the Blue Devils scored the final 6 points of the non-league contest on free throws to capture the victory Monday night in Greencastle.
A drive by Michael Baturin put Camp Hill (5-13) ahead 34-33, but with 1:13 remaining, G-A’s Eli Sterling nailed both both ends of a 1-and-1 to give his team the lead again. The Lions ran off some clock and called two time outs, but eventually missed a shot inside and the Devils got the rebound.
At the other end, Camp Hill fouled Blake Shadoan with 0:13 left and he also made both ends of the 1-and-1 to make the score 37-34. Camp Hill wildly missed a 3-pointer and Shadoan was fouled again — he sank both shots to get to the final score.
The Lions led by 3 after one period, but Greencastle used a 7-0 run late in the second quarter — two baskets by Conner Wright and a three by Surzano Solomon to take a 21-81 lead at the half. The Blue Devils still led 33-29 when they missed three consecutive shots from right under the hoop, then got called for a foul and a technical foul. Camp Hill made 3 of the 4 free throws to get within one, and Baturin’s bucket gave them the lead temporarily.
Sterling led Greencastle with 15 points and Conner Wright added 10. G-A connected on 14 of 15 shots at the free throw line.
