Fannett-Metal Gets Past Northern Bedford 59-57

The Tigers (5-5 overall, 4-1  ICC) got back on the winning track with a 59-57 victory at Northern Bedford.  F-M had a 34-24 halftime lead but a hot shooting quarter by the Panthers trimmed the lead to 46-43 after three quarters.  The 4th quarter saw a couple different lead changes, but it was the Tigers ability to get to the foul line and make their free throws that was the difference in the game.  “ In the 2nd half we didn’t shoot very well so we started penetrating more and we were able to get to the foul line.  We were 17-22 from the foul line in the second half”, said F-M Coach Paul Coffman.
The Tigers were led by Hunter Hill with 23 points, 4 steals and 5 assists.   “This was Hunter’s first game back in four week’s and it was nice to get him back on the floor”, Coffman said.     Also reaching double figures for the Tigers were Luke Coffman with 17 points and 6 rebounds, and Wyatt Appleby with 10 points and 8 rebounds.   Ayden Warren had 4 points and 5 rebounds.  The Panthers were led by Cullen Lloyd who got loose for all of his 19 points in the second half.  The  Tigers Junior Varsity won 39-13.
Fannett- Metal will travel to Southern Fulton Friday night for an ICC contest at 6:00.
