The Shippensburg Greyhounds’ basketball schedule has fallen victim to the recent closure of the high school and suspension of all athletic events due to spike in Covid cases.
The Greyhounds were forced to postpone four games, including an anticipated first place showdown with Waynesboro Tuesday night. Now, the schedule will resume with a road game at James Buchanan on Friday, January 21st.
The change in schedule means Shippensburg will lose non-conference games with Hershey, West York, Northeastern, and Susquehanna Township in order to accommodate the remainder of the league schedule.
The Greyhounds are currently 7-1 overall, 4-0 in the Mid Penn Colonial and riding a seven-game winning streak. They are currently ranked fifth in District 3, 5A. Playoffs are scheduled to begin on February 21.
The new schedule is as follows:
January 21 at James Buchanan
January 22 Waynesboro
January 25 at West Perry
January 26 at Northern York
January 28 Greencastle
January 31 at Boiling Springs
February 1 Northern York
February 4 at Waynesboro
February 10 Big Spring
February 11 Boiling Springs
